Grade 4 Unit of inquiry - 'How we Organise Ourselves' enquired into different public spaces and materials used to create them. The school corridors were covered with art displays the trees on the school walkway had funky clay faces pressed into them and different parks were visited analysed for their use and child enjoyment factors. The class teachers worked with the students to create large models of their ideal park. Meanwhile in the art lessons children created designs and wrote proposals for the decoration of the newly organised library. The photos below show the chased ideas - all generated by student inquiry and begun an a whole day of art for the Grade 4 students.
