Lines of Inquiry
- how heritage allows the past to survive
- human activities that affect heritage
- how heritage is preserved
We ran this as a mini exhibition and the students presented their work on large boards. Along with their inquires they also created artwork to accompany their presentations.
Students created a sketch and plan describing what they would make and the tools and materials needed.
The grade 4 team enjoy working together and we sometimes collapse the timetable to allow longer periods of time to create projects. This was one of those cases.
The students submitted their plan and conferenced with the art teacher a week before the collapsed timetable day. I was able to then organize students into rooms according to materials and teacher skills. We had 2 rooms with clay work and one room with paper crafts. The teachers, assistants and art teachers then worked with groups of students to create their projects. If students finished before the end of the day then there was a further space set aside with another teacher where the students could work on furthering their digital and hard copy presentations and art boards
